History

Baskin Robbins was created by Burt Baskin, a brother-in-law, and Irv Robbins. Both were ice cream lovers and started their careers in the industry together in 1945.

They shared a similar food philosophy and were dedicated to offering high quality products. By 1948, they had six stores between them.

The duo merged forces in 1953 and rebranded all of their stores under the Baskin & Robbin’s brand. They used pastel colors to recreate the carnival atmosphere.

This is also where the pink spoon was born. They have created over 1000 different flavors since the beginning of their company.

They had more than 400 stores in the US by the 1960’s and were regularly awarded gold medals at state and county fairs for their quality products.

The company expanded internationally in the 1970’s, opening stores all over the world. There are now over 50 stores worldwide.

The chain has been through many ownership changes. However, it is now owned by Dunkin’ Brands Inc. This partnership has resulted in some co-branding between Baskin & Robbins and the equally famous Dunkin’ Donuts.

Baskin and Robbin still set the foundation for all franchises. Baskin and Robbin have 7,300 locations. They are still the market leader in ice cream, providing delicious, creamy icecream in every flavor.

Review

You’ll find a cozy, inviting, and candy-colored ice cream parlor when you visit any Baskin & Robbins location.

There are many seating options available, including booths, sofas, benches, breakfast bars and outdoor seating. They are friendly and warm, and will do everything to make sure you are satisfied.

They offer more than just the original 31 flavors. The healthier option, the BRight Choices range, was introduced in 2008. This brand offers a wide range of flavors: black walnut, chocolate chip cookie dough and strawberry cheesecake.

Their gold medal ribbon flavor is a popular choice. However, if you are unsure what to order, ask one the friendly staff members for a pink spoon and then try different flavors until you find your favourite.

Customers are kept interested by regular seasonal and specialty flavors while keeping the favorite flavors. Their frozen treats are thick, creamy, and delicious. Expect to pay between $2 and $5 for a cup or cone, soft serve, or a soft drink; a sundae costs about $5.

Baskin & Robbin’s has been consistently ranked among the top ice cream chains worldwide. Their lives have been dedicated to providing tasty products and friendly service that puts smiles on customers’ faces.
